LW8/DFX+ deal extended:

NewTek is pleased to announce that we are extending the offer to include eyeon's professional compositing software, DFX+ with Module 1 - Visual Effects and Module 4 - 3D Tools, a $1785 value, free with purchases of new seats or upgrades of NewTek's Emmy®-winning LightWave 3D® [7.5]. In addition, this offer also includes a free upgrade to LightWave® [8] by download when it ships later this year. Registered owners of LightWave [7.5] and earlier versions who pre-purchase a LightWave [8] upgrade for $495US during this period will receive DFX+ immediately, at no additional charge, and will receive the LightWave [8] upgrade in electronic form when it ships later this year. Purchasers who are upgrading from LightWave [6.5] or earlier versions will also receive an electronic upgrade to [7.5] at the time of their purchase.

The offer has been hugely successful during it's initial run, and now that NewTek has previewed LightWave 3D [8] for the public at SIGGRAPH 2003, we want to extend the offer to those who wanted to know more about the forthcoming edition of our award-winning 3D application before making a purchase decision for a new seat or upgrade.

For complete details on Emmy®-winning LightWave 3D and the DFX+ special offer, see:

Notes: This special edition of eyeon's DFX+ locks to the LightWave 3D hardware key. Upgrade pricing does not apply to legacy versions of LightWave purchased as new and unregistered after January 1, 2003.

Could you please clarify on the "electronic form" part? Above you stated "for download" for buyers of [7.5] (free upgrade to [8]) - but the wording is different for registered [7.5] users who simply bought the upgrade to [8] (see quote above). "Electronic form" sounds like "for download" to me.

*OUCH!* this is an interesting change of policy for NewTek - so a cheap Graphics Studio Bundle (LW 5.6 + Aura 1.0) bought from eBay (or wherever) no longer qualifies for upgrade pricing? How much would the upgrade be for a deal like this?
