View Full Version : Fiber FX and AA

First of all I love fiber FX.

I noticed some jaggy edges pop up in the render as soon as the AA settings are greater that 1 and always ocures where the hair comes from behind the object.

So I went about testing diferent settings to find a way to remove these jaggy edges and this is what I came up with.

no 1 render the image at twice the size and then resample, ok unless you want to render something realy large.

no 2 Put a transparent polygon in front of the camera, forcing the hair to be rendered before the post process. This works fine but be aware that the render time greatly increases, so just put the poly so it covers the hair.

I might be missing something or a setting that would atomaticaly get rid of the jaggy edges.

My thought would be to add a setting in the fiber filter that would prerender the hair before the post process or set the AA to be aplied after the post process.

Some one must have a clue on what to do, I dont.
I would like to know how on earth you came up with the transparent polygon thou. To bad it seems to trash the rendertime.

Perhaps it a fix in 9.5.1 ??
