Hello...

Its my first time around here, so i don't know if this is the correct forum to post this kind of questions.

Here it is. I want to make a plug-in to export to my own custom format. I found how i can extract vertex (x, y, z) and polygon (numVerts, vertex indices) information, but i have a problem with UVs and surface info.

I can't find a connection between VMaps, Texture info, surfaces and polygons. Can somebody tell me a way to extract that kind of info???

So far i was able to find the surface index for a given polygon, but from here, how can i find UVs for that polygon, and texture's filename accociated with a specific surface (just color map, not reflection textures or anything like that. Just color texture.) And by texture i mean, its filename.

This will be a modeler plug in.

Thanks in advance, and forgive my English.

Hi,

Are you using C or Lscript?

I'm a newbie to C so couldn't help you much there at all. If it's LScript you're using, there is a forum for such questions here:
http://vbulletin.newtek.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=30

Most of the C development, LW SDK discussion, has always taken place at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lw-plugin/

You'll need to create a yahoo account to access it :)

What you're after can be achieved in LScript b.t.w, check chapters 18,19,20 of the LScriptReference.PDF which you can find at the bottom of this page:
http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/downloads/index.html

If it IS LScript you're using, and you get stuck, pop another question on the LScript forum.

Cya!
Tom

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm talking about Plug-In not a Script. I'm using C for that. I don't have any idea about LScript (except that its present (!!!) and its a script language), and i don't want to learn new things just for saving files. I know there is a way of doing it with plug-ins, so there is no need to learn LScript.

Thanks for the link. I'll try it.

Is there a forum here, about C-plugin programming??

Thanks again, an i hope somebody helps me!!!

Hi,

No C/C++ SDK forum here. Check out the yahoo group.
