It seems zBrush would be more intuitive in modeling a head. Just easier I guess. Is there a way to just model a head in zBrush then bring it into LW and attach it to a body? OR, make a whole character in Z then bring it into LW to bone it up and do the rest???

I've only ever worked in LW, but zbrush seems so much more faster.

I prefer this one:

Cheaper, easier to use, supports LW far better then any of the others, updates it quite often etc etc.
The next version has some pretty nice volumetric sculpting tools.
I also like the retopology tools as well.

I didn't really care for 3D coat, because it didn't respond well to tablet computers. If I'm SubD modeling I prefer a work flow closer to a real world artist by using a tablet. Zbrush and Modo both works well on a tablet for SubD modeling.
