If a Mac involved in ScreamerNetting has a kernel panic, is the rest of the rendering job affected?

Is ScreamerNet 'smart' enough to simply write off the puking Mac and carry on with those still running, or is the whole job comprimised?

lets say that its "dumb" enough to do so.

screamernet doesn't figure out which machine is going to render which files in advance, it simply has a pool of frames to render, and when a node says " hey I'm ready" screamernet sends it the next file that hasn't been taken by a node yet.
So as long as the rest of the network isn't knocked out by the kernel panic (for instance the server gets the KP), Screamernet should be able to hobble along like it always has.

one of the problems you might face is that the render "in progress" on the machine that crashed... might not get rendered, but if its only one file then usually its not a big deal.
