View Full Version : Creating a cacao granulate texture inside a plastic jar

Hi folks!

I'm facing a new challenge: a client needs a visualisation of a new kind of packaging for a cocoa powder. It's a transparent plastic jar with a yellow cap... nothing special. But they would like the content also to be fairly realistic... it's a funny, interesting granulate with a rather complex surface. So, modelling it makes no sense to me... I've been thingking about trying something with partigons and hypervoxels. But since I've never used or try them before I could use some guidelines here before I dig into this. Or is there another logical way of doing it.

I'd really like to finish it in LW without any Photoshopping, just to keep it a truely LW product. :)

Texture map, and use CrazyBump (http://www.crazybump.com/) for normal/bump/displacement maps.

Thanks, Korvar! CrazyBump looks nice, but I'm on a Mac... Funny, it didn't cross my mind, but bumpmap could be an easy solution... I'll play with it.

I would also use HVs as in this example:
