So here's what i came up with carpaint shader. It realy does the trick. The paint setup took about an hour or two (with testing) to get it right.

-------------

Finally Lightwavers are getting something that we should get befor the competition. I was fighting with a car paint all the time i can remember. Damn! Now i took me two hours...

Newtek made a realy huge jump with the LW9 point something and so on, but i realy miss spline modeling. NT please make it possible guys !!!!!!!!!!

Spline modeling is in Modeler since ever.. :)
But if you want Modo-like spline patching in real-time and interactive there is EasySpline toolset http://www.easyspline.com

Yeah, I ment the interactive spline patching, couse right now I get just one shot here in modeler. It's easyer to make a new (let's say) hood, than to re-model it, with modo-style spline patching it would be possible without much effort.

Didn't tryed the easysplyne yet, but i'll give it a try. Thanks ! :)

great render,

needs some more AA to get rid of the steps on the fine edges.

Try rendering with the classic camera or the gaussian reconstrucion filter
