After watching William Vaughns fast skin tut. I tried it on a character I'm working on. I keep getting gray skin with no subscattering. The Character is 1.6m tall. I'm using 9.5 64bit. Can somebody help? It would be great to hear from William on this! His videos are always helpful!

Are you using the perspective camera?

Two things,

Larry covered the first one. Make sure you're using Perspective camera, or one of the other new ones. Classic camera doesn't work with that node. This is most likely the cause of your woes.

Second, crank up your epidermal and subdermal distances a bit. With the size of your character, just go to something crazy, like 500mm on epidermal and 600mm on subdermal.

Those two things should give you at least something. :)

That took care of it! I had the wrong camera. Thanks for the quick help!

No problem. Its always little omissions that can bite you. :)

The Default Camera is Perspective.... Alot of teh new materials and render improvements need the new cameras...anything but Classic.

I'd have shown changing camera type if needed....

Classic is still hugely faster than persp for certain situations. Transparency, and oddly the transluceny Diffuse shader node. That immense slowness from that nodes usage might be a bug though.
