I am having a problem rendering particles...I see them as dots (snow) on layout, but when I render them, they are still dots and not like snow. I also tried other particles and do not seem to render them. Is there something I have to do, I have open GL open...Help!

Can you post a screenshot of your HV settings and the render.

He means a screenshot that shows how you are creating the particles. You surely at one step opened a window and gave it some values.
HV=Hyper Voxels. Or in other words, Lightwave particles.

I know what happened, I am doing particles and that is all I am going to get (Particles)...stupit of me!.... did some smoke and I was able to get smoke...On particles, that is all i will get dots...dots and dots.....Am I right? But what can one do with just particles...????

If you made an emitter by selecting Items>Dynamic Object>Particle>Partigon Emitter you are going to generate the particles you are seeing. If you want to have them render as a volume like smoke you need to apply HyperVoxels to the emitter.

Go to Items>Window>HyperVoxels and double click on the Emitter object in the list to activate HyperVoxels for that object.

HV=Hyper Voxels. Or in other words, Lightwave particles.
Common misconception. Hypervoxels are not Particles. You put HV onto particles, but they can both be used without each other too.

I found out my problem, as the books hardly mention that u have to use the Volumetric and fog menu under windows menu to achive what I want. One book briefly mentions to use that, the other just do not mention I have to go there to do the smoke, wind, explosions etc....thanks to all!
