View Full Version : Curve conform pinching and squashing

I'm using curve conform and morph mixer to animate some pipes (spline control isn't accurate enough anyway :D), I'm running into some problems with pinching and twisting as the tubes run along two of the curves.

I fixed two of the pipes simply by moving them along Z and having them start at the origin but the, slightly more organic, hoses aren't playing nice.

Is there a simple fix for this?

I'm on 64bit so I haven't found any 3rd party plugins to accomplish this.

BTW, there's also an issue with having the morph at 100% (pipe start position - 'off')...not a big problem but might be worth mentioning.

I have both 32 and 64 bit versions of LW installed on my workstation for that reason. At least I can run both at will.

yeah, it's looking like I'm going to have to install 32bit again. The only trouble with that is that the animation will need to be rendered in 64bit because of the complexity of the objects so I'll have to render off the piping and the associated mattes in 32bit and composite them afterwards...not a big problem but adds a lot of time to making simple animatics and proofs.
