We're developing a new logo at the station here, and I'm banging my head trying to figure out the best settings for a "glass" surface for the logo. Does anyone have some sample settings that we could try out?

We'd like to go a little heavy on the refraction to warp the back panels of the logo a bit. The bevels (separate surface) need to pop a lot. The faces (not including the bevels) would need a fairly low amount of specularity and glossiness.

Also--would I need to render w/ alpha, or just use apply modes within AE?

Can't seem to figure this one out.

Thanks in advance, folks. This forum is amazing.

Theres a glass preset that comes with lightwave, which would be a start :)

The main thing is that u need a glass and air surface (i think?), all u do is copy the object to a new layer, flip the polygons and change the surface name to glass_inner or something then cut/paste it back onto the main object. Then apply the inner and outer glass presets.

The preset is ok but its not great so u may want to tweak it but its a starting point.

Thanks, man. I'll give it a shot.
