Hello :)

I did not find a thread about blogs for Lightwave in this forum, so I post.

Does anyone have a list of Blogs to track Lightwave news ?
The goal in mind is to get RSS into a RSS Feed Reader.

Thanks a lot for the replies

Best regards,

Alain

Nice one Kuzey!

So are you in Melbourne, or Turkey :) ?

Keep it up! Love the materials on quickdraw.

In Turkey at the moment but that could change next year :hey:

I was thinking of either having a guess artist showcase in my blog, or starting a new blog just for it. A different LW artist/studio each week or so....showing off their goods and what not. :D

i suspect you'll find that most blogs that feature lightwave do so as a vehicle for an artist's work. for news about the software, you'll have to relie on sites like this forum, the other lw-centric forums and the main newtek page. all of which are rss-capable.

I considered a blog about LW, but people generally don't seem to care in blogland. (Or didn't)

See, I'm the other way. I'm a 3D person who doesn't seem to care about blogland.

It's funny, there's a ton of 2d blogs...cartoonists etc.

Maybe, it's partly due to the fact those guys don't have a forum based on their favorite software...to hang out in and what not.

I wish more 3d animators read cartoon blogs like JohnK's.

hrgiger, it's funny you should say that, but I think what you are saying is the same thing as me. :) On the whole, I find 3d people to be less interested in blogs, and as a result, blogland residents to be less interested in 3d. :D

I have a blog which features 3D done in Lightwave for a personal project, but months go by without posts because there's so little spare time these days:

Same here, never written or subscribed to any Blog, time is better spent elsewhere on the internet!

I'm confused - The original title asks about blogs, but then says its because they want them for news and RSS feeds. Most forum systems offer RSS feeds, you don't need a blog to get that.

I'm subscribed to a few yahoogroups feeds, NewTek, Spinquad, and more. That's probably just as easy a method as any for getting news bulletins.

Here's a few LightWave based RSS feed links fyi - You can tell who they're for from the URL's:

http://www.spinquad.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2
http://www.cgtalk.com/external.php?forumids=5
http://newtek.com/rss.php?feed=rdf&product=lightwave

<thread hijack>

This is gonna sound weird but I wish there were PODCASTS about the 3D industry. The only one I've found is fx-guide.
I just figure that if I'm reading a [visual] blog, I'm not working but if I could listen to something relevent to my interest in 3D, then I could work at the same time.

Anybody know any besides fx-guide?

it is not a blog, but we put lots of LightWave related news, links etc. ...

http://www.sinefx.com/

ps. for example, check "How Digital Domain Created the CG World of the Honda Fit" link.

The CG was modeled in NewTek LightWave 3D, animated in Autodesk Maya and then rendered in LightWave, and matte paintings were created in Adobe Photoshop. ďThatís our pipeline, and itís a pretty robust system,Ē says Barba.
