Excellent. I'm going to revisit an old scene with this method. Looks to be perfect.

Gotta be my fav video from you. I loved the way you presented this --- as if the terminology is equally confusing to you. And how you first simply showed what it does and then how a setup from scratch would be done.

You skills as an educator show through...

thanks.

Awesome! Great video, that's the kind of meat 'n' taters I was looking for.

This video helps in so many ways. I wondered how to create a pole item after converting from the old bones system to the new joints system. Once again thanks William. I really appreciate your videos.

Pole vs. the IK YZGoal.

I think the target+pole is more stable, but I would still want to know what the technical difference is: advantages, disadvantages.

In simple terms. YZ goal happen as part of the Ik solution. Pole is basickly before IK.

Sweet. Thank you.

Yep, it's a great video as ever, but I'm confused.....this seems very simple, but that last stage does not work for me.

When you set the Target of that top joint to Goal the whole chain rotates. Fine. When you arrive at the end joint and set its goal to the Goal null, my chain does not snap back, it stays there.

I think I followed the tut to the letter, but obviously not, so what have I missed?

Here's the scene, at the last stage with the chain having stayed in place.

Geez.....now it's working.....don't know why.....

Must be something I did and convinced myself otherwise. Odd though.

Anyway - thanks - sorry for the hassle - the confusion is all all mine, clearly :)

Whne I loaded the scene "Enable IK" was not activated. When I activated it ...all was well :)

Yep, that really must have been that simple - when I posted it was on, I had just looked at the button and saw it highlighted.....now I reckon that MUST have been it, ie. it wasn't on before.....OK, so all this proves is that I've spent way too long in front of this infernal machine today :)

Thanks for jumping in to help out so quickly, and for the vids!
