View Full Version : FFX and Strand Maker...

So, I was going to do something super simple... a spiderweb (just to play around with FFX... have not touched it until just now).

So... when using Strand Maker based on a polygon object you end up with a bunch of 2-polys, but when applying FibreFilter to them in Layout, they don't match. The FFX OGL is michmatched and it's just an approximation. Another thing I noticed when I render is that whatever I try, I can't make those strands look like they are connected.

Any tips on how to do that?

I could, of course, use the line-renderer in LW to render this, but I figure that with FFX, I will probably have alot more creative control of the shading of these thin threds....

Found it... :)

Setting the Fiber Smooth value to 0 = makes the Fibers to match the strands 100%.

Would be great to have a curve that add some curvature to the fiber (in essence, the fiber is "longer" than the guide because of the curvature, but the fiber still matches both ends of the 2 point poly).

Oh well.. :) Cool stuff nontheless.. :)
