View Full Version : OBJ import without .mtl

The new OBJ importer is nice, but the way it behaves in the absence of a .mtl file makes it a little less useful. If you have a .mtl file, you get surfaces built based upon grouping in the .OBJ file. If you do not happen to have the .mtl file (which happens quite a bit), the grouping is totally. It would seem to be easy to keep the surface based grouping if no .mtl file exist ad setting the surfaces to default values rather than just discarding the info embedde din the .OBJ file. Thoughts? Did that make any sense?
