I entered a short I did about climate change, and it was accepted! Now I guess I am supposed to garner myself some votes. I am not sure how it works, but I guess they count the top 10 most viewed, then vote on it.

Thanks, I think you will enjoy it as well.

Well, as long as they don't score for originality you might be ok.

I mentioned it was an homage to a certain scene in a certain movie with a certain NRA president...

I appreciate what you're doing.

As for the animation, I wonder if there is a plugin out there that would handle the water in a more photorealistic manner.

Also, there was a movie about climate change with similar imagery. But I did think of Planet of the Apes too.

I am trying to win $3000!

One thing that is difficult for me is the color of the water. I wanted to show that it is shallow (not even as deep as the Statue of Liberty is tall, obviously), so I made it like other coastal areas I have seen. If I recall deep water is darker in appearance.

The Day After Tomorrow had the Statue frozen up to it's waist, with windblown icicles jutting out from it. I took some artistic liberty with the water level.

Here are the other entries. Mine doesn't feature children and flowers though.

Hey! I am in the top 10 and will be offically judged by an all star panel, including Maggie Gyllenhaal, she played Rachel Dawes in Batman the Dark Night
