It looks like 3D-Coat is available for the Mac now too! (MacIntel only)

They have a demo available as well.... :)

ZBrush and 3D-Coat both available, eh? Mac users aren't prepared to make such software choices :)

Has anyone tried the Mac demo of 3D-Coat? It seems to hang up for me when Time Machine kicks on. I actually stopped a Time Machine backup process while I was working in 3D Coat to improve performance and my whole computer froze up. (iTunes was stuttering, Force Quit wouldn't work...)

I'm trying to pick between Z-Brush and 3D-Coat right now. Z-Brush appears to be a more robust application, but that depth comes with a price difference. I really wish Z Brush would roll out a Mac demo of their application before Sept. 29th when the price goes up. It seems we can't compare apples-to-apples until after the 29th, but waiting will cost us an additional $100.

Trying out the demo for the past few days, nice and stable here, iMac 24" intel core duo 2 - OS 10.5.4.
May want to think about updating your version of Leopard, 10.5.4 is much improved over 10.5.2.

Ron,

Do you have Time Machine enabled on your box? Overall 3D-Coat feels very solid, and has a nice responsive interface. I would like to know if this is just a personal problem of mine.

I am running 10.5.4, so I don't need to update the OS. I do however need to update my signature :)

I have a time capsule for wireless network and shared data storage but have not enabled Time Machine.
