I'm trying to make Lightwave 9.5.1 beta open up its own configs so it doesnt interfere with my main LW install.

Ive followed instructions that I found on various websites, to create a shortcut, and add -c"path" to it.

so the shortcut is now

D:\lwbeta\Programs\lightwav.exe –c"D:\lwbeta\Programs\configs"

I created the configs folder too.
But as soon as I launch 9.5.1beta and exit, the config files still get created in my profile folder.

What am I doing wrong ?

you don't need the quotes, it should be like this:

D:\lwbeta\Programs\lightwav.exe –cD:\lwbeta\Programs\configs

you don't need the quotes, it should be like this:

D:\lwbeta\Programs\lightwav.exe –cD:\lwbeta\Programs\configs

...you only need the quotes when you have a path that contains spaces like this "c:\program files\newtek"

I remember having problems the last time I tried this and I did suss it in the end but I don't remember how.

ok got it working now.

wierd solution. I removed the dash and replaced it and it worked. LW was seeing it as some strange character and popped up an error msg.
No idea what that was but its solved now (and without the quotes).

Thanks guys.
