Hi everyone,

This is slightly off-topic, but not quite. We have a VT[5] system in our studio which we use for both live broadcasts and pre-taped shows. Currently we broadcast closed-circuit in the school, meaning we have a small set amount of air time we must fill. However, in the near future, our school district will be giving us a full 24-hour cable channel in our area. We don't want to have somebody sitting in the studio all the time pushing in tapes, so what I'd love to find is some sort of computer software or special hardware where I can dump competed shows from VT onto it and schedule things to air at certain times. I haven't had much luck finding such a device, but I find it hard to believe no such device exists. Do any of you know of something that might help us out? Thanks!

One option would be the scheduling plugin by Youngmonkey and your VT. If you need to use your VT at the same time as playout then how about a less expensive VT or a Leightronix video server. 360Systems also makes playout servers with scheduling capability.

look under VT software.

If you can't figure any of this out then feel free to contact me. I have installed quite a few systems to do this sort of thing.

Great! I'll have to look into those. Thanks a lot, Jef!
