View Full Version : Pivot Points gone Wild!

Ok, so I make my overall background scene with landscapes, and lighting and camera moves, and save it.
Then I make each of my character animations with all of their stuff.

Then I use Load from Scene, to bring my characters into the background scene. Been doing this for 8 years.

Now when I do this in 9.5, my Pivot points go crazy or they just go away, or something. It is just one giant mess. Objects are scattered in all directions and at all kinds of weird rotations. But they are still trying to move... in broad sweeping arcs.

Is this a new feature that I am just not understanding? My client meeting is in 13 hours, and the day has been a total bust.

Please help.

It's probably not reading the scaling information of a null somewhere. "Load From Scene" seems to be totally busted in 9.5. Be sure to FogBug it with a description of the problem.

What where you using before 9.5?

Because load from scene also has a serious issue as of at least 9.31 as far as I know and it has been fogged as well.

Thanks guys.
I am hearing you say that Load Items from Scene is no longer a useful part of my workflow.
hmmm. Not what I wanted to hear. Is this something that they will be addressing in 9.5.01?

I was using 9.0 the last couple of years. I tried 9.3 a year ago, and it gave me fits, so I never used it again.
BTW, What is Fogged? What is FogBug?

The "Load From Scene" problem seems to be much more serious in 9.5. In fact, I'm surprised they released 9.5 without fixing it. I sure hope they get it fixed soon--but people need to be making noise about it for that to happen.

You'll find this (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73226) under general support.

The problems with 9.31 load from scene have mainly to do with the schematic window and some problems with goal objects. But it may have something to do with backward compatibility to 8.0. I am not sure.

The best thing to do in your situation is to send a report. They will respond. And if it is an issue they can tell you. If there is a fix or something else going on you can find out that too.

Oh so it's not just me then. I haven't tried it in a long time, figured I was doing something wrong, never asked about it, never worried about it since.
