View Full Version : Two surface properties on one surface problem

Hiya all.

I can't seem to find anything like this on this forum, so I decided to post a question about it.

I'm using LW9 and making a paint can. I'm new at LW, but I'm pleased with what I have so far. The only problem is I am trying to do a texture wrap around the can with the label and it's printed with a matte 4 color ink, letting the silver of the can show through.

I need the ink to stay with a matte look, but the underlying can to retain its shiny metallic properties. I have an alpha with the "transparent" part ready to go and have placed it on the can (all the ink color showing up), but I can only get either a shiny look on both or a flat look on both.

Thanks for your help. :)

Use the same alpha settings [cut and paste] onto the glossiness and/or specularity properties as well.
