Hi,

I stopped by the booth on Wednesday and recieved a 30 day trial of 9.5 Only when I got home it only had a .pdf on it and no trial. My question is, will there be a link to download 9.5 for a trial run? Thanks.

This seems to be 9.3.1, not 9.5

I thought I read BeeVee say that you can download 9.5 from there. Anyone else tried it?

That's horrible! No trial on the CD? What the hell's the point then?

Not even 9.3.1 on it? Who's running these shows???

I suppose my suggestion would be to wait a few days for them to get 9.5 up... then complain about it if it's not there. I think that's shameful that they didn't actually have a trial available on the disc!

I think that's shameful that they didn't actually have a trial available on the disc!

My knee-jerk reaction was the same, but then made sense when I thought about it more.

Having a physical CD allows NT to give away something to remind people to check it out, rather than not having one and relying on them to remember to go to the website.

You could have just used flyers, but people throw tend to throw those away. Plus you can put demo reels and other cool stuff to show off the latest release.

Not having the install on there also means NT could make last minute changes without worrying about many CDs with an old version on it.

All of that is fine as long as you don't pretend it's a trial CD, as when the potential customer finds out it's not on there they are likely to feel short changed.

So, my advice would be, put something cool on there to warrant people keeping the CD and checking it out when they get home, but make it clear that they need to download the trial from the website.

..thanks for the support guys. The lady handing them out came up to me and asked me if I'd like a 30 day trial of 9.5, fully functional, for fun or profit. Scanned my Siggraph card and handed me the cd, so I was certainly dissapointed to get home and find nothing on it, but the .pdf. I was still optimistic there would be a download on this site. Now that SIG is over they will replace the trial.

That is wierd...i didn't really need a trial DVD but they gave me one anyways, but they game a LW9.3.1 trial DVD instead of the 9.5.

I found the thread I mentioned and BeeVee didn't say what I mistakenly thought he said. Ooops :o. I'm sure they will get the 9.5 trial going asap now the show is finished up.
