View Full Version : blinking light for spaceship

I have been trying for days to get the right type of light for my spaceship. I want it to blink like on an airplane. I want it to be bright and shine just a little on the ship but a lot away from the ship as though it's directional 180 degrees. I want a bit of lens flare but not anything that would be over done or noticed much besides creating the realism. I don't know what type of light to use since I've not had much luck with any of them. I also tried to create an object that glowed and illuminated but it's not near bright enough and doesn't look real when close. Any suggestions? I tried the volumetric and it didn't seem to work well.

A point light works well, with intensity falloff.

Can I change the size of it and get rid of that pesky glow around the light when using the lens flare?
