Well I have Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition and I don't know how to compile a LW plugin with it. If anyone could give me help or send me to a good tutorial, that'd be great. Thanks :lwicon:

In the SDK you have a guide how to set up visual studio (6.0 thou) and alot of samples.

The discrepancies between 6.0 and 2005 are the problem though. I can't seem to find some of the stuff the person talks about in the box example in the SDK when he talks about compiling it. Thanks for the links though, that should prove useful when I do finally learn how to compile a plug-in.

Have you tried opening the sample .sln files that come with the SDK?

Cheers,
Mike

Well, I thought it did it... Forgive me for being such a novice with Visual Studio but I just can't seem to find the correct thing-a-ma-jiggies to get it to work! :compbeati I've made the library as instructed in the SDK but I don't know exactly how to link it to the program(although I think I have an idea...). And I keep on getting these link errors that I can't remember at the moment! I've just finished learning C++ and figure I should expound to an API so I'm kind of a n00b when it comes to all these compiler options and fancy library trickery. Thanks ;D

Well, that was... much simpler then I thought, lol. :D I just realized I was putting the .def file in the wrong place. :) I had to put it in the Linker properties. Well, on to learning the SDK...
