Hi all,
I really wanted to join this contest but time is, as always, working against me. Eventhough I won't finish it in time I still want to show you guys what I made up till now.
It's an easy storyline; a Spaceranger lands on a deserted planet and shoots a giant monster down, but all in his own clumsy way. More of an animation exercise because I haven't been animating for a long time and i really want to test IKBoost (bought the Kurv DVD from Larry Shultz to help me).
I also have a very crude moving storyboard, but that is not for public showing...

I do think I'll keep working on it, but in my own slow pace...
Here's two pictures:
spaceranger (doesn't have eyes yet)

his bunny-like spaceship (not finished...sigh...)

For everybody working on this contest: keep it up! And finish it!

Thanks for the replies guys!
The idea was to animate the bunny-spaceship landing in a kinda walking/running way. Just like when you're landing from a giant jump.

I like retro sci-fi stuff!

But maybe you should tune the proportions on the spaceranger a bit. His arms are very long, and will very likely look strange when you start to pose him. And I guess he could also use a good workout to drop a few kilos around the butt/thigh area. :)

Keep it up!

Thanks for your reply down_in_black! It still is kind of a 'rough' model but I agree on the arms, I need to shorten them.
He is supposed to be a bit chubby, but I need to study how proportions are on a bit 'fatter' people.
I also need to work on the mesh as it isn't always what it should be in places.
Looks like I'll have some time for this in a few weeks from now. Too late for the deadline but I really want to finish it.

Here is a link I found of a guy that maybe could be used as reference: :)

One thing I think apply in many cases is that men get more fat around the stomach and the ladies usually gather their fat reserve around the butt and thighs.

To bad you can't make the deadline, but keep on working on this. Always feels good with a completed project!
