Can anyone direct me to some tutorials on composition?

Little is known for this feature so i figure I'd ask for help. I tried asking for help in college, but even they know little on the subject. It would be great if anyone could provide us a link; thank you.:lwicon:

For compositing in what program? For starters you can check out www.vtc.com .They have tutorial videos galore, for After Effects, Combustion, and Shake.
www.Lynda.com has them for After Effects and Shake.

Or were you simply talking about using "composition" as a design element?

Mixing of CG elements into live footage is normaly done by a stand alone compositing package. I would think LW is a realy REALY bad choice for this, I wouldn't use Exel or Word for it either.

It's fine to do this in LW for low-budget tv or home projects.

You use "background image" in the effects panel/compositing to load your video. This is explained in the manual.

Yes. There is a video tutorial on it here (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77002) under Effects/Compositing.
