View Full Version : Displacement trouble

I'm using an imagemap to displace geometry with Nodal displacement (see picture). When I move the object the displacement moves along. But when I use "world coordinates" it also moves with the object while it should stay put. Anyone know what's going on?

Another thing. When I use the old "non-nodal displacement" the displacement disappears completely when I use "world coordinates". I've tried this setup in LW-8 and everything works fine!

Have you tried fiddling around with your displacement order? Sounds like it's related to that

Thanks Pomfried, that's it. I had to set it to "Before World Displacement".

I'm still trying to understand why this is though. Since there's nothing else going on in the scene I don't understand why the displacement order should make a difference. Could you, or anyone, explain?

Actually I'm a little confused myself the more I think about it... It almost sounds like a bug to me, because world coordinates should stay even after any kind of transformation and because of that displacement order shouldn't matter :D

Well, I hope someone else can explain, since right now - I can't :)
