View Full Version : Problems following William’s cathedral tutorial

Hi guys, I was following along William Vaughan’s cathedral tutorial (http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/training.php?t=77002) but hit a couple of problems:

1. Extender Plus wouldn’t do anything so I dragged my base points down and put a cut in with the knife tool.

2. When trying to use Rounder I get this error “Zero length vector – polygon points coincident. (E420)” and nothing happens.

Anybody know what’s gone wrong with both of these tools?

One of the key things is to ensure you knife the bottom of the geometry but do NOT select the very bottom points. Rounder has many "gotchas" and high on the list is open edges

Yeah I made sure to deselect them.

There are so many problems with rounder, how about maybe, some points are overlapping but appear as 1, try a fixed distance merge?
Or maybe, the poly it's trying to handle is an N-Gon it can't handle?

Any chance of posting up the object so I can have a look-see for ya?
