This has probably been asked and answered but here goes anyway...

Are the 9 pin RS-422 connectors on the SX-8 compatible with Sony's 9 pin RS-422A remote connector?

I have the same question. I just set up my VT last week and want to hook it to a DSR-1500. Maybe the "A" on the Sony side is only "psuedo-proprietary."

In addition, where do I find the pinouts to make the DB-9 cable? (Rather than spend ~$40 on one). I found this () on the web but, at best, it is only half the story. What I need is the pinouts fgor the RS-422 ports on teh SX-8 and, hopefullt the 1500 manual will show the deck's pinouts. Any help much appreciated!

The connections from the SX-8 to ANY RS-422 deck are a straight, off-the-shelf DB-9 Serial cable, as you can find at any electronics store.
