Hi!

I'm planning to buy a new mac. Currently I'm using an old PowerBook G4 1,33 GHz at home. I would be interesting to see the LW render speed difference between my current G4 and a MacBook Pro 2,4 GHz (2007) or similar.

Anyone here has one who can post some benchmark from LW 9.3.1 (UB version)?

I tried to find some MacBook Pro benchmark on "www.blanos.com" but I couldn't find any?

90 views and no one has a MacBook Pro and LightWave 9.3.1 installed?? :)

It looks like the PPC version of LightWave render faster then the UB version on a single G4. Wierd?
Anyway here's my benchmark for my old PowerBook G4:

Radiosity_BOX
PowerBook G4 (LW 9.3.1 UB) = 26 min 0 s (1560.0 s)
PowerBook G4 (LW 9.3.1 PPC) = 25 min 32 s (1532.3 s)

Raytrace
PowerBook G4 (UB) = 7 min 29 s (449.6 s)
PowerBook G4 (PPC) = 7 min 14 s (434.8 s)

Teapot
PowerBook G4 (UB) = 5 min 54 s (354.3 s)
PowerBook G4 (PPC) = 5 min 33 s (333.3 s)

Variations (Hypervoxels)
PowerBook G4 (UB) = 3 min 18 s (198.0 s)
PowerBook G4 (PPC) = 2 min 59 s (179.7 s)

DOF
PowerBook G4 (UB) = 30.5 s
PowerBook G4 (PPC) = 26.2 s

ZBufferSort
PowerBook G4 (UB) = 21.1 s
PowerBook G4 (PPC) = 17.7 s

Radiosity_Things
PowerBook G4 (UB = 19.2 s
PowerBook G4 (PPC) = 15.4 s

Just FYI-- 9.3 has serious, serious stability problems on Intel Macs running Leopard. I suspect that almost all Lightwavers with that setup installed the 9.5 Open Beta as early as possible and have been using it for the last few months. Which is why you're not getting any responses.

Ok.. Maybe I should try out the beta forum instead?

Not the case here, could you elaborate on your issues?
