Hi guys,

Whats the best format to save my renders in? psd, tga , etc. I don't want compression.

Thanks,

Too many choices?

.PNG is a lossless compression format that any browser can open. Other than that, why not go with .PSD?

I really, really hate seeing compression in video. I can barely watch digital cable, particularly up in the high numbers. But I have to say, for doing animations, I've never had a problem with .JPGs. I have yet to notice compression in stills or in video, both on the PC and on television.

People are always against any lossy formats but I really never notice any issues using JPEG sequences either. That's often what I use, JPGs or PNGs if I need an alpha channel.

You probably wouldn't see any thing wrong with jpg unless you need to do a lot of color correction, levels adjustments etc. With a compressed format like that you would have a lot less "latitude" to work with in post than you would a lossless format.
But if you don't do any/very little post processing you should be fine with jpg
