Hi !
i follow the method from Essential lightwave v9 book to rig my own character. As i'm a newbie, perhaps my character need later some improvements (for example deform a little the hand finger geometry). So my stupid question, when you have finished to rigg your character (ie put the bones, finished the weight map), is it yet possible to deform your 'initial' geometry without kill your rig work (weight map) ?

Yes, you can freely deform your mesh without damaging the weight maps.

The best answer any of us could give you is one that goes into the future: Give the strangest of thoughts a go as you just never know what's gonna work!

There's even a plugin out there that will let you change your skelegons (if you used them) and update them in layout.

Do everything; it will work or not. ;) LW's cool for that. Lots of it will work.

You can conveniently swap your new improved characters directly onto the rig in Layout by using the Replace button.

Remember, you need to rest the bones in place... the r key is your friend.
