View Full Version : Lightwave Erases Collision Calculation on Render

I am trying to make an animated pool of water that can also interact with objects in the scene. I used this tutorial (http://http://www.stanford.edu/~kwillis/blog/archives/2007/09/renderosity_tut.html) for the collisions, and then modified the plane with some displacement maps to give it constant ripples (apart from when it is interacted with.)

The only problem is, when I go to render, the interaction part disappears! I don't think its a memory issue - wouldn't I have gotten some sort of error message? Anyone familiar with this issue?

Thanks!

Yes, you need to save out your "calculated" motion file.

It happens to the best of us!

Ahh OK - I just save that to the directory that my .lws is in?

Hmm so I saved the .mdd file and now I am getting a Node Match Error when I try to render, and then the render doesn't work...what does this mean?

Yes and you can keep overwriting the file everytime you recalculate. Think of it as if its caching the dynamics file.

Cool I think I got it - I had to change my subdivisions to "Last" - its rendering superslow but it seems to be working now.

Thanks a ton Adam!!
