Quality is variable, but hey, it's free (always check copyright) ...

Online SVG's save the day again ..

World maps (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Blank_maps#Historic)

Or maybe the old coat of arms of Austria (http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imagine:Austria_Bundesadler.svg)?

I would keep posting links, but there is google (http://www.google.com/search?&q=insect+filetype%3Asvg).

That's some nice stuff. Every now and then I'll need a vector world map, and the idea of drawing one is not nice.

Indeed .. i am making a nice inverted large format one for my 1 year old daughter, where australia (and new zealand, and iron maiden) are at the top ...

Ok... Must've missed the memo...
How do we use this? I didn't think Denis released his plug yet...

Ah ok, sorry ..

SVG's being vectorized, you may need to convert them to eps using inkscape (open source) or illustrator, then model, extrude etc as you please...

It is more the info in the files that is interesting to me, via one of the above programs you can also take high quality vector data into cad programs etc.

Not 'Lightwave specific' info perhaps, but I am using it constantly in that way ...
