I've been using SyncToy by Microsoft for some time now, and it's been pretty good. However last night I had a file sync that was corrupted, fortunately I didn't lose any work, but it made me think twice about SyncToy.

Question is, for simple folder syncronisation what do you use and trust?

Cheers
Matt

(Oh and Windows XP only please!)

I use syncback, the free version. Works very nice for me.
Does sync, backup and more.

I came across this one:

http://www.goodsync.com

Which has a clean, logical interface and is very easy to use, not that folder syncing is difficult, but some programs just over egg it! I just want it to compare two folders, show me the differences and what will happen if I press go! Then get on with it without asking me a question on every file! :)

This GoodSync proggy seems to have the balance right balance between showing you what you need to know, but not too little.

Only thing is, I emailed Siber Systems to ask if I need two licenses or would I be able to install one on my work and home machines (the two I'm syncing).

Email came back with an unknown email.

So now, I'm thinking twice about buying because updates my be few and far between, or even non-existent! I could even buy and not receive a serial number!

Anyone else using this?

Cheers
Matt

It's java based, but java is getting better these days. Free is good.

Prospector: totally right! I use Directory Opus for almost everything. Syncing is flawless, even with my websites through FTP. Works like a charm.
