You have to use Windows media to view the stream.

Yesterday, I wanted to share my stream with the school and made a .bat file upon which a click would bring up wmp with the stream loaded and ready to run.

"Where:\onyour\system\wmplayer.exeis" http://###.###.###.###

This is all the bat consists of. The file could easily be made much more portable.

I found that the :80 didn't stick and that I was able to just type the url to get it to work.

The very first time I tried, it failed. I then waited and I was finally able to see it: there's a BIG delay from start to first seeing the stream.

Can you ping the other computers on the network? Do they all see each other okay?

If you are using a hub or a switch and not a router do the machines have an assigned IP address? Without a router they can't use DHCP to do it.
