Prior to getting into a huge project, I want to confirm that Lscript can listen to a serial port, correct?

Please, please, please, please, please say yes!

I suppose I should expand upon what it is I want to do:

this little micro controller is super easy to use. I want to get it talking to lightwave and build scene and character contorl with it using physical inputs such as potentiometers, you know, knobs and stuff.

As I am a person who has no time, and would love to animate stuff for my portfolio and not wade through clunky inverse kinematics, this sort of control would be a lot easier and more fun, and its a challenge, and it would bring in a new element for LW hobbiests and professionals alike... DIY mocap anyone?

Sorry to disappoint you, there doesn't seem to be a direct way.

The controller looks very interesting, dig the support for Processing language. For LW, I think your best bet would be to somehow get this controller registered as MIDI device, and then try to access this from LScript. This link might help you:

Also check out the MAKE Controller from http://www.makingthings.com/.

You can connect via ethernet and the controller will return a value that you can scale to whatever you want.

As for getting it into LScript I'm not sure on the specifics, and I don't have time to dig, but if you're serious, it's worth a look.

I have a MAKE Board and it's a blast ot play with and super easy to get started.
