Because my new company does not support Macs, I've been using a Wintel laptop to run Lightwave. However, I decided to use my 2.4GHz MBP anyhow and am now using Parallels to run Office and our other standard Windows software.

I am pretty impressed of how well Parallels works (I especially liked how it cloned my Wintel laptop and it kept all my login credentials, etc.). But I am curious on other's experiences with VMWare in particular with Lightwave.

Oddly enough, using Lightwave on Windows was an eye opening experience --- it seemed more responsive. Even under Parallels, I found that I like using the Windows version more --- I don't know what it is. I'm not a power Lightwave user (mostly still images) though.

I like the concept of VMWare. The trial works fine, install it and try it for yourself.

I wanted to use it with Autocad, and it did not go well at all ... seems to be on a program by program basis tho, and depends alot on how the app usually installs in Windows.

Best to just give it a shot.
