I'm want to write a very simple lscript that just loops through a range of frames and renders them individually. (This is to create a work-around for a bug in layout that crashes when doing an animation, but doesn't crash when rendering frames individually). Where can I find an example of a very simple lscript and how to access and run it in Layout? I've been searching my Lightwave Program documentation directories and 'My Downloads' but I'm coming up with nothing that just shows how to write a kind of 'hello world' lscript for layout.

The documentation is on your installation media.

They are called:

UserGuide.pdf
ReferenceManual.pdf
LsciptUserGuide.pdf
LscriptReference.pdf

All of my installations are from downloads so I don't have any installation media. I can't find the lscript documents in my download area.

I'll keep looking.
