View Full Version : How do I make a Tree grow using LW?

Hi all,

I just received a script from a client that involves animating a tree growing from a seed. Is there any plugin or tutorial that can help me accomplish this?

The Tree needs to flourish with leaves and fruits and must be detailed enough for a close-up. I'd love to learn about this asap so that I can respond to the client.

Thanks in advance.

I'll give you a hint, the plugin is called the same thing you would use if you want to grow a real tree...

Ah, the suspense is killing me, check out 'Fertilizer' on Flay.com

Dpont did some interesting research/scripting in this area:

See here (http://pagesperso-orange.fr/dpont/samples/Virtual_trees_en.htm) and here (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74715&highlight=tree+grow).

You may have to make a 'donation' for the cause ... ;)

These tips have been really helpful so far. I'll have to review them when I get a break. If there are any other ways or plugins please let me know.

I may not have a lot of time once I accept the project so if there is a more powerful plugin out there that is user friendly I will gladly consider it.

I really have no clue how to use Lscript or any other form of programing/scripting, it has to be be a plugin that I can manipulate from an interface. If there is such a thing.

Thanks guys

There was a tut that SplineGod made using no plugins. The way i remember it this was excactly what you´re requesting, a growing three.

I believe I saw it on one of the DVD´s, in the extra´s folder, that were bundled with LW8 (yes, eight).

Couldn´t find it right now but it´s there somewhere.
