Has anyone read this book (which was supposedly done using LightWave)?

Any comments on whether it's good?

A little insight to this book (I've not read or heard of it)

Amazon.com's Blurb about this book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1584502851/qid=1058909692/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-1896267-4639941?v=glance&s=books)

I've never liked Charles River Media books, there's just something about them. Go to your local bookstore and browse some of the titles, you'll see what I mean, especially the Lightwave books, euuuck!

EDIT: There is only one good Charles River published book that is excellent, Digital Character Design and Painting by Don Seegmiller (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1584502320/qid=1058924840/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_3/002-6993891-3710465?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)

I guess I shouldn't be biased by who publishes the book as it's the author who makes the real difference. But it's just that the quality of material in 95% of their books looks like crap.

On the other hand, books published by New Riders and Wordware are almost always worth purchasing.

Ken did another book for Charles River Media a while back, Digital Dinosaurs or something like that. It's pretty good, I haven't gone through the whole thing but it's not crap like most of the other Charles River books. I've heard some good things about this Digital Humans book too.

I've known Ken for a long time. I haven't kept in contact with him for a few years though. I still remember the day he did that prosthetic make-up on me.
