I'd request that during capture I could:
1) adjustable window showing the incoming video stream within the capture
panel
2) hear the audio as I see the video during capture
3) (I've mentioned this before), a way to indicate start and stop points
for the incoming video stream so when I need several sections from a
tape I don't have to baby sit the stream on a clip by clip basis nor wil I
need to digitize the entire recording. SE doesn't do a good job of identifying
scene changes during capture so I end up with 2 hour files when I only
needed about 30 minutes. A simple way to indicate the start stop points
would be very helpful

Q.1. What are you desirous of doing with the video capture screen, if you had your wish granted, for an adjustable window? Would you make it smaller, to accommodate something else -- like a word processing program, for typing in some notes, or what? Just curious.

Q.2. What might these "indicators" for Start and Stop points look like, DaveO?

Q.3. Might you also find use for a proposed STILL CAPTURE capability, that automatically removes interlace, if incoming video is in that ubiquitous [if not yet "dated"] form?

1) Adjustable windows size would make it easier to see incoming video.
On my SE system the feeder deck's window is small as is the capture
screen's incoming video steam window. Allowing this to resized would
just make it easier to identify the clip. Nice idea about adding notes to
the clip
2) I originally asked for batch digitizing but in simple in-out (start-stop) would
allow me to do other things without having to babysit the incoming stream
They would be time code indicators either keyed or click at start-stop to
set the time
3) Still capture would also be great but I would like the ability to set what
form the capture would take, jpeg, tiff, mpg, and resolution.

I'd add live scopes to the list, and live VU meters in addition to the monitoring for shooting straight into a notebook.

All the above, IMHO -- are terrific ideas, IMHO, only I'd add to DaveO's idea on point 3 above:

It'd be nice to have the ability to select among these, from incoming motion video, to still capture:
1. interlace
2. progressive
3. interpolated progressive
