Can you illuminate hypervoxels?

you mean light one up?

you mean use Luminosity

I mean put a light such as a point light or spotlight by the hypervoxels and light them. For example, I have points I hypervoxeled into clouds, I want to illuminate them with a light from outside them, not from within. Its just not working. :thumbsdow

Not automatically, you need to select the light source in the HV window for that particular FX.

Also, how do I avoid seeing the points of which my hypervoxels were made. I dont want to see black dots in my final render.

The pain.....oh the pain...........

3d Dave, I'm sorry but I dont see anything that says anything about light sources in my HV window. Its all about geometry, shading, and hypertexture.

Im a bit lost.....again.......

Dont use a partigon emitter, but a normal particle emitter, if you are using LWs particles for this.
If you are using a point- cloud, then do not convert the points into single point polygons.
Hope that helps

Elmer, all i did was in modeler I sprayed points, then in layout I went to plugins and loaded hypervoxels and then surfaced them as clouds.

Am I missing something?

Kill the polys and leave the points. HVs only care about vertices which can come in the form of particles or point clouds (geometry without polys).
All HVs react to light in certain ways. Some types of volumetric HVs react better with internal lighting.

Guys, its all points, I have no polys. I've sorted out the lighting, but I must get rid of the points.

I think the spray points tool create single point polys. Hit the k key to delete any polys but leave the points.

Larry's suggestion will work, spray points creates special 'single point' polygons.

However, you can also do this in Layout without affecting the model. Select the particle object and, in object properties panel, render tab, set object dissolve to 100%. No more visible points in rendering. Don't use unseen by camera, as it will hide the Hypervoxels as well.

Hope this helps.

you can also switch the object off in the scene editor. HV will still render...

Thx guys, I did what 3dgfxsfxgfxstudio said. It worked. :D:thumbsup:
