View Full Version : d'storm buffer saver alternative?

alright i am shooting footage, solving in syntheyes and adding 3d in lightwave.
Once that is all done I am going to After effects to composite.

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to capture the shadows in lw for use in ae. After looking around I found the d'storm buffer saver, but here is the kicker. I don't believe it works on the intel mac pro. [my problem with fprime too, but that's another story]

Are there any alternatives? [other than putting windows on the mac]

If you need me to clarify any of this, let me know

Can you use the save for photoshop option and just click the shadow pass?
Then in AE import the image sequence?

I just realized how badly glossed over this. I meant use the PS export option under the effects pop up (with the Backdrop,Volumetrics, Compositing, Processing) on the Processing Tab. Choose Add Image Filter. Then select PSD Export.

that serves me right for flipping b/t so many pieces of software.

thanks dexter. that's great. I was half expecting to get flak for asking this question that for whatever reason I couldn't find in the forum. i would use an emoticon if I believed in them.
You saved my weekend.
