I use some of my numeric keys for changing the viewport views, but is there a way to set any of them to other actions, like scale, rotate, etc...??

Can't you edit your keyboard shortcuts to whatever you like with the edit keyboard option....but why?

I can't find the numeric keys in the 'edit keyboard shortcuts'.

'but why?' are you asking why I would want to do this? To improve my working performance? Why else? ;)

Surrealist.

This has come up before. I think it has to do with the fact that they are reserved for the plugin that creates these presets.

I am not sure why we can't have access to shift and alt with these keys. It might have something to do with the OS or hardware, I don't know.

You can't find those keys in the edit keyboard shortcuts in Modeler.
Have you tried Layout? Which is where those shortcuts apply mostly.

Are you by any chance left handed? Because the standard shortcuts seem to work pretty well for me (except Knife is a bit hard to do with one hand on the mouse.) T-move, Y-rotate, h-stretch, CTL T-drag, r-rotate 90, cut, copy, paste, undo, etc... all are set up right under my left hand while my right is on the mouse. I can see however where it might be awkward if you are left handed and trying to do those keys with your right hand especially if you have a split keyboard.

Seems a neat thing especially for a lefty.

Yeah I have a tendency to really make use of the custom mouse menus. But in most of the 3d apps I use I almost always use the numeric keys as well. I keep my hand on them pretty much the whole time (and the control/shift/option too). I actually really love the way Silo lets you completely customize all of these things, more so than any other app I've used.

I still think that my wacky idea of a configurable foot pedal is brilliant!

Drummers can have double base pedals...... apparently we can use our feet for more than tripping and stubbing of toes.
