View Full Version : Forgot some of the basics

Hello all.

I've had my video editing hat on for far too long and have just dusted off my lightwave one. Upon placement on my head, I discovered that quite a bit of knowledge was missing. I think it fell out onto the floor and was eaten by the office cat which would explain why he's so huge. Anyway, my problem at hand...

I have used EPSF importer somewhat successfully and imported a logo. The auto drill kinda worked but I ended up having to turn it off so I can drill manually. How do I move objects to another layer or even to the background layer without moving them in XYZ space? I've looked in my manuals and books and I seem to be missing it. I know I used to know how to do it and that's what makes this so frustrating.

Thanks for all your help.

heh, "use it or lose it," right?

anyway, try select the object (or all of the geometry you want to move), cut it, go to your other layer, & paste it into that layer. That should do the trick, unless i'm missing something...

Thanks. That was it. I was wondering if it were something that simple. It was.

Again, Thanks.
