View Full Version : Apply wavefilter only to objects?

I'm working on this project where I have to add a cgi character into a live-action scene. The movie footage is at night and it's dark and grainy. My solution? add wavefilter granularity, unfortunately this also adds granularity to the background and makes it even worse than before. Is there any way I could add Grain only to the objects I have in the scene and not the background?

thanks alot

There was an "objects only" option in WaveFilter at one time.

Mike's site is still up, might be worth checking?

I think its still there.

Never used it but saw it under the Affects tab in the Wavefilter window.

Affected Areas: Objects, Background, Shadows, Full Frame, etc.

Tried it last night ( after reading this thread ).

Unfortunately, it got broken, at least in 9.3...

I do have the source code somewhere ( Mike released it when his AI project took over his life ), maybe I should have a poke around one of these days.

There was a NewTek Special Edition version - that might be worth a look, but I don't think it had all the functionality of WFImage.
