Well I must be stupid. I've looked through the manual twice and clicked all of the button I can find but I still can't figure out how to add sound to my animation. Can somebody help me please?

That WON't add sound to your animation, only to the timeline for playback purposes.

To REALLY put sound with your completed, rendered animation, you have to use an editing app of some kind as LW won't do this for you.

This is true. Sorry I didn't specify. It simply loads audio during your scene creation (for morph sync'ing and what not) but won't "render" it with your animation.

Hmmm thats not the best news. Are there any good free (or cheap) programs that can group the sound and animation?

You can get many cheep basic NLE software.

Sony Vegas Studio (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudio) is a good place to start.

Then do a search for "Free Open Source Video Editing" and see what you find.

Here's one. (http://lives.sourceforge.net/)

Or even Windows Movie Maker, which ships with XP and probably other versions.

Also i movie on the mac.

I was thinking it would not be easy to add sound separately in those apps, (for some reason) but you are right, looks pretty easy. I did a quick test in Movie Maker and it is pretty much drag and drop and then easy to slide along the timeline.

But to get real easy basic fade in and fade out control and a host of other real useful features for syncing up the audio, I would say get something like Vegas Studio. But if all you need to do is pop in a track Movie Maker will do it.
