View Full Version : What is LW Global?

I'm trying to rig a character I just made but can't use any of the tools because anytime I activate one i get "Error calculating LW global" then I press okay and nothing happens.

I searched through the help files but nothing turned up. I seem to have a lot of technical errors when it comes to Lightwave could it be because I'm using an ati card instead of a nvidia?

I'm using ATI also, so I don't think that's it.
There are lots of "Global" things in Lightwave.
Sometimes if you activate a tool without setting some of the parameters it expects, you'll get an error because LW is trying to calculate something based on no input.
I'm far from a rigging expert, but you might try being more specific.
What tools are causing the problem?

Well the tools I've had trouble with so far are:
Tip Move
Joint Move
Bones On

After messing with those for a while I got fed up and just went to bed, so I'm unsure if others work or not.

If it's LWSDK global, then it's function's library. Problem getting global means that plug-in is newer than LW you're trying to run it.

Ah that's the problem, thank you.
