View Full Version : animating a rope/whip like line. (fly fishing cast)

I am planning on animating a fly fisherman casting the line. The desired effect of the line is almost like a whip.. a really long graceful whip.

Im not sure if I should use ik booster or if I should just animate the bones mannually. or if there is a better way to do it. any insight is appreciated.

A row of bones with delay motion on each bone...

Sorry, I guess this applies to the pole not the rope.

I would go with IKBoost. It would be a snap.

Hi Mustang1185 I gave a little more thought to your problem. Here is a scene using 2 point poly chain and cloth dynamics. You will have to calculate as I didn't include a mdd file. I think it looks pretty convincing. I think if you combine my antenna suggestion with this approach you could get what you want.:hey:
